Cluster initiatives of the TIC
Clusters are an important instrument in regional development. For a Czech cluster to be able to apply for support from the structural funds of the EU, its plans/objectives must correspond to the development strategy of the region - that is, the approval of the regional self-administration is required.The TIC is precisely the organisation established by the Regional Department of the Zlín Regional Government for the implementation of cluster initiatives
The TIC has so far successfully implemented the following projects:
1. Preparation of the Plastics Cluster
- Project duration: 08/2005 – 02/2006
- Costs: CZK 1.1 mil.
- Cluster established: 27.2.2006
- Under the name: Plastikářský klastr, z.s.p.o. (Plastics Cluster)
- Number of founding members: 18
2. Preparation of the Footwear Cluster
- Project duration: 10/2005 – 09/2006
- Costs: CZK 0.7 mil.
- Cluster established: 2.11.2006
- Under the name: CZECH SHOES, citizen's association
- Number of founding members: 11
3. Preparation of the Wood and Furniture Cluster
- Project duration: 08/2006 – 07/2007
- Costs: CZK 0.8 mil.
- Cluster established: 20.6.2007
- Under the name: ABC WOOD, citizen's association
- Number of founding members: 14
